The County’s Equity in Orange County Initiative identified three priority areas to advance health equity: 1) housing as health; 2) food as medicine; and 3) health and healing.
The Equity in Orange County Initiative is a multi-phase plan to support public health efforts that target communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. The initiative has four main pillars: 1) expand or develop new mitigation and prevention resources; 2) improve data collection and reporting; 3) build and expand capacity of local healthcare infrastructure; and 4) mobilize partners to advance health equity and to address social determinants of health.
