Pathways to Scale: Abolishing Medical Debt for Good
Please join us on January 28th for the second webinar in our series, From Local Innovation to System Change: ARPA Investments Building Towards an Equitable Economy, Pathways to Scale: Abolishing Medical Debt for Good.
About the Series:
Co-hosted by the Institute on Race, Power, and Political Economy’s Budget Equity Project and the Health and Political Economy Project.
This series explores how American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding has fueled exciting policy movements for medical debt elimination and guaranteed income and uplifts how these movements can drive large-scale policy shifts to increase economic and health equity. Featured speakers will discuss the critical roles of community organizing, advocacy, and equity-driven local policy leadership in shaping these transformative initiatives.
Part one, Eliminating Medical Debt, includes two webinars: Local Leaders Taking Action on Medical Debt, highlighting the immediate benefits of ARPA funded initiatives at the local and state levels and their potential for systemic debt abolition and Pathways to Scale: Abolishing Medical Debt for Good, discussing how to move from cancelling to preventing medical debt in the first place. Watch Local Leaders Taking Action on Medical Debt and stay tuned for registration details for Pathways to Scale: Abolishing Medical Debt for Good in January 2025.
Part two, Piloting Guaranteed Income, will showcase how ARPA’s equity guidance supported the movement for guaranteed income and direct cash support, focusing on how these efforts can lead to system changes that strengthen the safety net and reduce income poverty. Look forward to these webinars in 2025!
